No Urhobo blood should be shed for politics — Taiga

By Emmanuel Aziken

President-General of Urhobo Progress Union Worldwide, Olorogun Moses Taiga, has urged politicians in Urhobo land to eschew violence,  warning that no Urhobo blood should be shed on account of politics.

Taiga spoke in his reaction to the reported attack on Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

Omo-Agege was reportedly attacked in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State last Saturday during a constituency outreach.

Taiga urged politicians in Urhobo land, especially and Delta State in general, to eschew violence as they go about their political activities, saying: “Nobody should shed the blood of any Urhobo son or daughter for any political reason.”

Taiga urged all Urhobo sons and daughters to come up with programmes to develop the Urhobo nation and sell such programmes to the electorate rather than resorting to violence.

He thanked God for ensuring that there was no loss of life in the unfortunate attack and urged  security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident and get to the root of the matter.
