Two oil workers unions have suspended their planned industrial action.
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, had planned to commence strike on January 7, 2017.
The decision to suspend the strike was taken at the end of their meeting with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, in Abuja.
All decisions that triggered the threat to strike have also been put on hold till further notice.
