Five men accused of kidnapping some pupils and workers of a secondary school in Isheri, Ogun State, were on Tuesday arraigned at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The men – Bekewei Agbojule, Egbasimokumo Ayeomi, Godspower Olopele, Toki Okuba and Super Allen Baye – were arraigned by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (OAGF).
They were arraigned for hostage taking and ransom collection.
The offences, according to the prosecution, are acts of terrorism punishable by life imprisonment under the Terrorism Prevention (Amendment) Act, 2013.
The accused persons kidnapped the pupils from their hostels on January 13 this year.
They had earlier abducted six other victims along Ikorodu Road, Lagos, on December 2016.
